Art Show

We are pleased to partner with the 14th Street Y to present this year’s art show “Peace Corps Creates…Art By Returned Volunteers.” The show will be on display in the Y’s lobby gallery from March 7th to April 11th.

Each artist spent at least two years overseas in service to their country as Peace Corps Volunteers. Whether they worked in education, community development or public health – Peace Corps service is a life-changer and a deeply formative experience. We invite you to meet one of our artists from this year’s show below.

Lola Dupuy

Lola Dupuy is a debate teacher in the South Bronx who relaxes in the evening by making art. While serving in the Kyrgyz Republic, she started making drawings of animals for her site mates and friends. Two of those friends were married after close of service, and recently gave birth to a son, Sufyan. She said, this drawing I made for Stephanie and Sufyan, to continue a tradition that started on the north shore of lake Issyk-kul.
