We love to hear your Peace Corps stories. And for those returned volunteers wanting to put their stories in print, John Coyne (Ethiopia 1962-1964) is here to help.
Author of 26 books of award-winning fiction and nonfiction, including his Peace Corps novel, Long Ago and Far Away (2014) and How to Write a Novel in 100 Days (2013), John will lead a two-month seminar beginning this June for RPCVs interested in writing their own Peace Corps memoir or novel.
John is the co-founder (with Marian Haley Beil, Ethiopia 1962-64) and editor of www.peacecorpsworldwide.org, a website dedicated to promoting RPCV writers. The online weekly seminar will feature videos, online classes and discussions, and individual phone conversations. The seminar will be limited to ten students and have a flexible schedule for students balancing work and writing. Besides writing, the seminar will also focus on ways to publish and promote a finished manuscript. The cost for the two-month seminar is $200. Interested RPCVs should contact John at firstname.lastname@example.org by May 1, 2018 to secure a spot in the seminar.
