We are pleased to partner with the 14th Street Y to present this year’s art show “Peace Corps Creates…Art By Returned Volunteers.” The show will be on display in the Y’s lobby gallery from March 7th to April 11th.

Each artist spent at least two years overseas in service to their country as Peace Corps Volunteers. Whether they worked in education, community development or public health – Peace Corps service is a life-changer and a deeply formative experience. We invite you to meet one of our artists from this year’s show below.


Tristan Tennery

Bolivia, Liberia 2007-08, 2008-09


Tristan Tennery served in the Peace Corps in Bolivia (’07-’08) and Liberia (’09-’10) before receiving a Fellowship to study at the George Washington University. He studied classical realism painting and drawing at the Ryder Studio in Santa Fe, New Mexico and is currently studying at the Art Students League in New York.
